The Mission of the International Association of Tennis Psychology(IATP) is to share the knowledge of tennis psychology with the world. 

Our main goal is to help you to develop a top rated mental game. We will share with you the secrets of the mental game that all the best players on the ATPtour and the WTA use to play their best tennis under pressure. We want you to learn all the essential mental game fundamentals as well as pass these fundamental onto other players. The IATP wants you to become a tennis psychology expert and a certified mental game coach so that you can teach others the secrets to the mental game.

The Creator of the course: Dr. Gregg Steinberg

The creator of this course is Dr. Gregg Steinberg who is ranked as one of the greatest golf psychologist in the world. Dr. Gregg Steinberg is the head sports psychologist for both the International Association of Tennis Psychology Association and the United States Golf Teachers Federation. It all started when Gregg was a young lad competing in southern California in tennis tournaments.He realized then that the best players had a handle on their emotions and could rebound from bad breaks. However, the ones who played their worst did not have enough emotional control.

From that realization, he went on to study performance psychology at U.C. Santa Barbara and then went to Florida State University for his masters and University of Florida for his doctorate in human performance. Dr. Gregg has studied human performance for the past 30 years as well as been the mental game coach for many professional tennis players with their mental game as well as the Vanderbilt Men’s Tennis team who went to the finals of the NCAA Championships. He also worked many PGA players  as well as NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball.

In addition, he has been the mental game coach for many university teams such as the University of Alabama,Vanderbilt, Florida State, Washington and Lee as well as more Universities. Dr. Gregg has also been the mental coach for many top junior tennis players as well as coached many CEO and business executives from top level corporations.

Dr. Gregg M. Steinberg, Head Sport Psychologist. Dr. Steinberg received his Ph.D in performance psychology from University of Florida. He has worked with countless professional tennis players, collegiate players and youth tennis players

Dr. Robert Singer, Former President of American Psychological Association Division 47. Dr. Singer is professor emeritus from University of Florida and was member of the Sport Science committee for the United States Tennis Association and former director of sport psychology for the United States Olympic Committee.

Rudy Rodriguez, USPTA. Rudy was a top collegiate tennis player and has been a USPTA accredited tennis coach for the past 10 years.

Travis Rhea,  Thailand Director of the IGPA. Travis is an elite mental game coach

 How to Complete this Course

The Mastering Tennis Psychology course from the International Association of Tennis Psychology (IATP) consists of 6 modules. Each module contains an overview, video lectures, readings, assignments, and a quiz. To complete each module:

1) Review the videos, and readings.

2) Complete the assignments, and quizzes.

Assignments

This course follows an open timeline format. This means that you are free to work on any component of the course. Assignments are meant to help you reflect on your own personal strengths and to improve on your weaknesses. Participation in assignments is required to complete this course but these activities will not be graded.

Quizzes

At the end of each module you will have 20 multiple-choice and True/False questions that comprise each quiz. These quizzes are based upon the videos and readings. You will have unlimited opportunities to achieve a passing grade of 70%. This means that if you don’t do as well as you would like the first time, you can review the information again to work toward a higher score.

Certificate

Once you complete all six modules in this course, a certificate will open in the Certificate Module. You will be able to download, complete, and print the certificate to keep. This certificate will state that you completed the Mastering Tennis Psychology On-line training from the International Association of Tennis Psychology (IATP) and you are certified by this association as a mental game expert.
